Alvis Great Danes is a preservation breeding program based in Louisiana, built on a simple conviction: that the Great Dane deserves breeders who prioritize longevity, soundness, and stable temperament above all else. Every decision we make, from the dogs we select, to the homes we place puppies in reflects that commitment.
Our dogs live as family companions. They are not kennel animals. They are raised with structure, socialization, and genuine care — because the environment a dog grows up in shapes the dog it becomes. We believe that responsible breeding begins long before a litter is planned and continues long after a puppy goes home.
We produce both standard and off-color Great Danes. Color is never a primary consideration. Health testing, structural evaluation, and temperament assessment guide every pairing. We are transparent about our methods, our results, and our dogs.

Every breeding dog undergoes OFA hip, cardiac, and thyroid evaluations, plus Embark genetic screening before any pairing is considered.

All dogs and litters are fully registered with the American Kennel Club. Pedigrees are transparent and available to every family.

Our stud dogs are selected for structural correctness, stable temperament, and verified health clearances. We make our males available to outside females on a limited, application basis.
All outside females must provide current health testing documentation. We evaluate each inquiry individually and prioritize pairings that serve the long-term improvement of the breed.
